Coronel, Rafael Biography Coronel was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. He first pursued his art studies at the Instituto Naciaonal de Bellas Artes, then ar Las Esmeralda. His first indidual exhibition was leld at the Galeria de Arte Mexicano in 1956. He was furthered honored as a national painter in 1959 when the National Institute of Fine Arts presented a large number of his artworks in a memorable individual show in the Palace of Fine Arts.
